Where community comes first

Caring for our people, land and water

Strength in numbers

Inspiring a thriving and resilient community to come together, empowering positive social and environmental change

More than a catchment group

We're a community focused on sustainable growth and environmental care. We unite landowners, families, and locals through knowledge, resource sharing, and teamwork. Together, we look after our environment and each other, making a difference that lasts.

supporting our collective wellbeing

We put people at the heart of everything we do. By focusing on our community's wellbeing and keeping everyone engaged, we believe we can create lasting change for the environment.

What we do

The people and places within our catchment

The West Waikato Coastal Community Catchment Group is a collection of forward-thinking, like-minded locals, who live and work on the land between Port Waikato and the Whaingaroa Harbour.

  • Water Quality Monitoring

Every Month - Next testing day is TBC in December
    Various locations throughout our catchment

A freshwater ecologist from Beca, alongside our Water team, carries out monthly sampling at each of the nine main waterways in the catchment. This ongoing work builds a picture of water quality over time, helping our community learn more about what’s in our local water.

We welcome anyone who is interested to come along to these monthly monitoring sessions. Please contact Alex Parrott, Greg Boyd or Jimmy Glenn for times and sites.
