We’re not just a catchment group
Empowering people, nurturing the environment
Our Kaupapa
We believe that when our people are healthy and connected, the health of our land, water, and environment naturally follows
Our goals flow well beyond water
We are deeply committed to the overall wellbeing of our community. We are one of the few catchment groups that have specifically allocated budget funds for mental health and wellbeing, recognising that a healthy community is the cornerstone of a thriving environment.
How we support our community
holistic wellbeing
Our catchment group is dedicated to fostering holistic wellbeing by addressing the interconnected health of our environment, community, and local economy. We believe that a thriving ecosystem supports healthy people and sustainable livelihoods, creating a balanced and resilient community.
real-world resources
We provide practical, real-world resources to help our members make informed decisions about land and water management. From guides on sustainable practices to access to tools for monitoring water and environmental health, we ensure that you have the information and support needed to protect and enhance your land and waterways.
educational + Social events
Our group regularly organises social events that not only educate but also promote general wellbeing and community connection. These gatherings are more than just learning opportunities—they’re a chance for members to relax, share experiences, and support each other. Whether it’s a casual get together, a wellness workshop, or a community project, these events help reduce stress, foster friendships, and build a strong, supportive community. By bringing people together, we aim to enhance the overall wellbeing of our members, ensuring that everyone feels connected and valued.
Sustainability support
We offer comprehensive support for sustainability initiatives, helping farmers and landowners adopt practices that protect the environment and ensure long-term productivity. Our team provides advice, resources, and hands-on assistance such as native planting to implement sustainable solutions that benefit both the land and the community.
Farming compliance
Understanding and adhering to farming regulations is crucial for both environmental protection and farm viability. Our group helps farmers navigate the complexities of compliance with local and national environmental laws, ensuring that farming practices meet the required standards while supporting a healthy ecosystem.
For generations to come
While our initial funding spans three years, our commitment extends far beyond that. With the ongoing support of our stakeholders and the community, we are dedicated to continuing our work, fostering sustainable practices, and nurturing a thriving environment. This is more than just a project—it’s a legacy that we are building together, ensuring that future generations inherit a healthier, more resilient landscape.
